PolyPid Reclaims European Rights to D-PLEX100 Drug After ADVANZ Deal Ends
PolyPid and ADVANZ PHARMA have mutually ended their 2022 European licensing deal, returning D-PLEX100 commercialization rights to the Israeli biotech.
PolyPid Ltd. announced Thursday that it has regained exclusive European commercialization rights to its drug candidate D-PLEX100 after mutually terminating a 2022 licensing and distribution agreement with ADVANZ PHARMA. The Nasdaq-listed Israeli biopharmaceutical company said both parties agreed to dissolve the arrangement, which had previously granted ADVANZ exclusive rights to market the product across Europe.
The termination effectively consolidates global commercialization control of D-PLEX100 back under PolyPid, potentially allowing the Petach Tikva-based company to pursue alternative partnership structures or direct commercialization strategies in European markets. The company described the move as expanding its global commercialization opportunities, though no specific replacement partner or go-it-alone commercial plan was announced alongside the agreement's dissolution.

D-PLEX100 is PolyPid's lead product candidate, positioned within the company's broader mission to improve patient outcomes by delivering treatment effectiveness at the site of care. The drug has been a central focus of the company's clinical and commercial development efforts since its founding.
The reacquisition of European rights represents a significant strategic reset for PolyPid. Regaining control of a key territory could give the company greater flexibility in licensing negotiations or revenue arrangements going forward, though the practical commercial impact will depend on how the company elects to proceed in the European market.
