Fibank and Bitpanda Partner to Bring Crypto Services to Mobile Banking App
Bulgaria's First Investment Bank and Bitpanda GmbH have signed a strategic deal to integrate crypto asset access into the My Fibank mobile app.
Bulgaria's First Investment Bank, known as Fibank, and Austrian fintech firm Bitpanda GmbH have announced a strategic partnership that will connect bank customers directly to cryptocurrency asset services through the My Fibank mobile application, the companies said Monday.
The agreement gives Fibank's customer base technical access to Bitpanda's crypto asset platform without leaving the bank's existing mobile environment. The arrangement reflects a broader trend of traditional financial institutions seeking to embed digital asset capabilities rather than build proprietary infrastructure from scratch.

Fibank, headquartered in Sofia, is one of Bulgaria's major commercial lenders, while Bitpanda has positioned itself as a regulated European fintech operating across multiple asset classes including cryptocurrencies, stocks, and commodities. Combining an established retail banking relationship with Bitpanda's licensed platform could lower the barrier for Bulgarian consumers exploring digital assets for the first time.
The partnership underscores accelerating demand across Central and Eastern Europe for regulated crypto access embedded within trusted banking interfaces. By routing services through an existing mobile app rather than requiring customers to open separate accounts on a standalone exchange, the collaboration aims to streamline onboarding and reduce friction associated with self-custody or third-party platforms.
Terms of the revenue arrangement between the two firms were not disclosed. Continue reading at Cryptocurrency.
